How prejudice can lead to war

Prejudice in America between 1861 to 1865 was one of the reason that caused the deadly Civil War which resulted in the death of more than 500,000 soldiers. One of the reasons was that the northern states and the federal government wanted all americans to be treated equally. However, the southern states of america, whose economy depended heavily on slavery, were against the idea. As a result of the difference in the view of treatment of black people, which are slaves, the southern satates had a war with the federal government. Due to the prejudice against black people in the south, the south were unwilling to accept blacks and this was one of the reasons that caused the Civil War in Anerica.
