Was the decision to assassinate bin laden rather than bring him to trial a justified one?

In my opinion, I feel that the decision to assassinate bin laden rather than bring him to trial was a justified one. If we did not assassinate him, he might be able to escape, like that of Mas Selamat. He had already killed many people and the crime he had committed was too much to risk the chance of him escaping. He killed so many people, that he does not deserve to be taken to trial as nobody knows what he might do during the time in custody. Therefore, it is safest to assassinate him as leaving him in this world would definitely bring harm to others.

The drive to explore space and our solar system is still an important human endeavor. Do you agree?

I agree that the drive to explore space and our solar system is still an important human endeavor. This is because we need to learn things that happen outside earth to be able to figure out some things that happen on earth. When we explore space, we know why life occurs on earth and not other places, and from there we can derive what are the necessary factors for life to occur as we can compare the conditions in soace and the earth. By exploring space and our solar system, we can broaden our knowledge and understand things that are happening in earth by comparing earth with space. From there, we can try to improve ourselves with the new found information. Therefore, the drive to explore space and our solar system is still an important human endeavor.

Making NS mandatory develops Singaporean boys into men. Do you agree?

I my opinion, I feel that making National Service(NS) mandatory develops Singaporean boys into men. This is due to the fact that when boys suffer a torture-like two years which is compulsory, filled with physically and mentally strenuous activities, boys would learn to face the problems and really endure the torture, as they knew that they cannot escape NS. When boys truly learn to be able to endure both mental and physical torture, they will come out as men. I seen many NS men, becoming more mature and have an increase in both mental and physical endurance. Therefore making National Service(NS) mandatory develops Singaporean boys into men as they now need to protect their country.

A day in World War Two

Dear Diary,

Today was one of the most terrible days in World War One. The Allied forces were very prepared, and we were taken by surprise. More than sixty percent of my squat mates died in that battle, and we were forced to retreat due to heavy losses. Today, at about six o'clock in the morning, our division attacked the Allied forces in small naval vessels. When we reached the shore, we sneaked into the enemy's territory, and we thought that our enemies were resting. However, nobody was guarding the camp. We rushed into the camp to find that it was actually empty. Our commander said that the enemy had retreated and we rejoiced!

Then, to our horror, we heard sounds around the camp. The next moment, thousands of bullets were shooting at us from all directions! We were surrounded! Our commander told us to counter attack, and we did. Although we outnumbered the allied forces, we were surrounded and our numbers were not an advantage. Our numbers quickly reduced and, seeing that we were bound to be defeated, the commander told us to risk everything and fight our way back to our naval vessels. We just hold our rifles and shot a pathway out, but through the process, many of use were killed. Even our commander was shot on his left arm.

When we reached the shore, we were surprised to find out that our vessels were gone. Things seem to be worse than ever. Our commander told us to swim back to our base, and before we could react, our commander was shot in the head and died. We swam into the sea, but, when we were in to open sea, we saw our naval vessels. At first, I felt a sense of relieve, but after some closer examination of the vessels, we find the allied forces on them! They shot at us once again, but we were unable to retaliate as we were not well trained in shooting from the sea. The vessels blocked our path and when we turned behind, another group of vessels were coming from behind. Just as we felt that we were dead meat, our assistant commander shouted and told us to risk our lives to swim up the vessels and occupy them. We listened to him and climbed up the vessels. Although in the process, many of us were killed, we manage to occupy the vessels and fled to our base before the enemy's vessels came caught up. The vessels chased after us to our base, but, together with the defensive forces, we managed to drive them away.

This war was a huge loss to us, both in men and morale. Ninety percent of our attacking forces were wiped out, leaving only forty percent of our total force left. After this battle, we retreated to the mountains, where our amazing jungle fighting skills and the geographic advantage would protect us from the enemy's attack, and where we could set up an ambush for the impending attack.

Social media has made us less social. Do you agree?

I feel that social media has not made us less social. According to Kavanaugh & Patterson, 2001, Internet use can lead to increased communication with local friends. Another research on social media by Katz and Rice (2002) shows that Internet use expands interactions with social networks, and thus increases the sociability of a person. When we use social media, we are actually engaging ourselves in a type of communication, and we can train our communication skills and increase our sociability by using social media. Therefore, social media has not made us less social as it actually makes us even more sociable.

Which party focus more on teamwork?

In my opinion, the opposition focus more on teamwork. In the poster done by the opposition, the pictures of all the members are equal in size, which indicates that all the members of that particular group are equally important and that the group needs all the members to be able to succeed, and not just one person. However, for the poster made by the ruling party, there is a picture of a member that is much larger than the rest, and covering most of the poster. This implies that the main source of strength in the party is that particular member, and that the rest of the members are not so important. This made me feel that the poster lacks teamwork as the poster mainly focus on one particular person, and not everyone.
